Retirement Facility

Retirement View

Retirement facilities are designed for seniors who are able to live on their own, but need the security and amenities of a retirement facility. Usually retirement facilities have little or no health services, and may not be able give assistance to someone not able to complete regular activities of daily living. Some facilities will allow a home health aide or nurse to come in and assist the senior in need of assistance.

Some retirement facilities offer organized social and recreational programs, while others provide only minimal amount of programs and activities. Facilities may include an exercise facility, lounge, library, laundry facilities, linen service, meals, and transportation.

Retirement facilities have one and two bedroom apartments. Paying for a retirement facility is usually out of pocket expense.
